I Pass this way but Once

I PASS THIS WAY BUT ONCE
This original Poem was named “The Pilgrim Way” and written by John Oxenham.

I pass this way but once, and then, the silent door
Swings on its hinges, Opens . Closes,
and no more I pass this way.

So while I may, with all my might
I shall essay sweet comfort and delight to all I meet
upon this Pilgrim Way.

For no man travels twice this Great Highway that winds
through darkness up to the Light:

Through Night to Perfect Day.
